The Red Lulu will be rebranded as Lolita Cocina and Tequila Bar when it moves to Washington Street this fall.

The team behind The Red Lulu Cocina & Tequila Bar, which opened in Salem in October 2011, announced Wednesday that the restaurant will soon move from its current Lafayette Street location to 118 Washington St.

According to the press release, "Lolita will welcome a sophisticated crowd looking for Mexican-inspired food and drink, prepared and served with a healthy dose of levity. Red Lulu will operate its business as usual at the current location through Oct. 31st while preparing the new space for its arrival."

“We’re excited by this incredible opportunity to move from our current location on the fringe of the Downtown area to a fantastic space right in the heart of Salem. Despite encountering some unforeseen challenges with our original location, the North Shore has embraced our concept and we can’t wait to share the fun of a night out at Lolita with an even bigger audience,” owner Christopher Jamison said in a prepared statement. “We are excited to give our team the opportunity to continue sharing our vision of a dining experience with the North Shore community. We love being in Salem, and we can’t wait to be right in the heart of it come this winter.”
