Tell Us: Does McDonald's Calorie Announcement Change Your Mind?

McDonald's will post calorie information starting Monday.

Is ignorance bliss?

McDonald's restaurants in the U.S. will soon get a new menu addition: The number of calories in the chain's burgers and fries, according to the Huffington Post.

The world's biggest hamburger chain said Wednesday that it will post calorie information on restaurant and drive-thru menus nationwide starting Monday.

The move comes ahead of a regulation that could require major chains to post the information as early as next year.

"We want to voluntarily do this," said Jan Fields, president of McDonald's USA. "We believe it will help educate customers."

So we want to know: Will the calorie content postings change what you order? Will it make you more likely to stop at McDonalds?

Lenny is drinking the Kool Ade along with many Americans. Obviously he's never watched Food, Inc or better yet Fast Food Nation, a mockumentary with enough truth to keep you from places like McDonalds for life! Start with the unsanitary, inhumane conditions their beef comes from, supplemented with the Pinkslime refering to mechanically separated and disinfected beef products known in the meat industry as lean finely textured beef (LFTB)[2] and boneless lean beef trimmings (BLBT) that allow them to maintain their claim of "100% pure beef". Add that to the over processed, unhealthy "white bread" rolls and top with GMO vegetables and high fructose corn syrup enhanced toppings. Wash it down with a 32oz coke (that's 310 calories, 86 grams of sugar,or around 22 teaspoons of sugar) add a 500 calorie side of fries and you got yourself a meal! McDonalds and the like are bad for Americans on so many levels: poor nutrition contributing to the obesity epidemic, supporting the factory farmers and ranchers that put the local "little man" operations out of business plus, maybe its a "clean alternative" to options in many 3rd world countries, but as someone who has worked in McDonalds, the conditions are FAR from sanitary. Like I said, I would think twice before even getting a cup of ice from McDonalds, YUCK!

Liz Hunt, I was only saying that a McDonalds has it's place. I don't recall the last time I ate at one, probably less than a year ago, but only once or twice in the last year or so. But it is folks like you who "drink the koolaid" who can't see it for what it is. It is a fast food restaurant that serves a purpose in a pinch. When time is not on your side, when you are on the road with hungry, irritated children and you need to feed them something you know they'll eat and in a place that welcomes children, and yes when you are in the 3rd world and you want to have one day free of food poisioning. It is not a lifestyle.....not the place to eat every meal, every day of your life. You whacky liberals need to lighten up sometimes and enjoy life....our time here is all too short and it makes sense to eat the desert before the main course on occasion, and the occasional quarter pounder and fries., It is your facist impulses that compel you to tell the rest of us what to do that annoy us about you people. Minding your own business, taking care of your own, and trying to stop yourself from dreaming of the next thing you want to ban will serve us all better. You'll find you will be a much happier person in the long run....trust me.
