A new candy shop called Sugar Rush is now open for business on Essex Street in downtown Salem.

The shop is opening at 230 Essex St., in the location that was formerly occupied by the bath-themed boutique Scrub. 

The brightly-colored sweet shop is owned by Helen and Gazmend Taka, the former owners of Fountain Place.
