'Avalanche' Comes to Front Street

A new shop dedicated to outwear will join the Front Street business family during an official ribbon-cutting today.

will officially join the Front Street business scene today at 2 p.m. at a ribbon-cutting with Mayor Kim Driscoll.

The business specializes in outerwear and activewear including fleece, according to the business Facebook page, and has a corporate office on Congress Street.

The new company store with be located at 24 Front St. — the former location of Sweet Anthem and Fiddlehead.

"We're celebrating our 25th year in 2012, and we feel that now is the perfect time to open our first company store," the Avalanche family said in press release through the . "We're excited to say the quaint tourist town of Salem, MA is the perfect place."

@KlassySalem, the ribbon cutting is in the process of being rescheduled and the new date will be released this week.
