7 Businesses Opening Soon in Salem

Here's a list of seven new businesses city residents can look forward to.

. Turners Seafood Grill & Market: A Turner's Seafood Grill & Market is expected to open sometime this fall on Church Street. Turner's Seafood owners Kathy and Jim Turner have said that they intend to hire between 90 and 95 employees and will be Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Sunday. A small seafood market attached to the restaurant will open at 9 a.m. when appropriate.

. Medusa's Cafe: Medusa's Cafe will be opening in the coming weeks at the Washington Street commercial space formerly home to A Taste of Thyme Cafe. Owners Chrysanthy Prousalis and Nick Solomos, of Peabody, said the cafe will continue to serve breakfast and lunch and will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

3. Melita Fiore Cakes: Melita Picciotto is now putting the finishing touches on her new downtown Salem bakery, Melita Fiore Cakes, located at 83 Washington St. A sign posted in the shop's front window suggests city residents "Keep Calm, Cupcakes are Coming" and it appears as though work on the interior is wrapping up.

4. Firenze Trattoria: Chef Zamir Kociaj, formerly of Boston's Trattoria Toscana, is bringing a taste of Tuscany to Salem with the opening of Florentine style eatery, "Firenze"on Lynde Street. The authentic Tuscan eatery is expected to open before the end of the summer, according to a sign posted in the front window.

5. Patio Bar at the Salem Ferry Landing: Workers were putting the finishing touches on Boston Harbor Cruise's new patio bar at the Salem Ferry landing Monday afternoon. Click the headline on this post for a virtual look around this new Salem business. 

6. Honey Dew Donuts: A Honey Dew Donuts location will open soon on Canal Street in Salem. At a meeting last month, the Salem Licensing Board approved a common victualler's license to applicant Ferand Donuts, Inc., doing business at Honey Dew Donuts, at 138 Canal St. 

7. Beijing Herbal Foot Spa: If you've driven through the center of Salem recently, you've probably noticed the big sign advertising the opening of the Beijing Herbal Foot Spa in the Hawthorne Building on Washington Street.
