Last week---

I was out of town Friday, visiting family out Sturbridge way. I got to see for the first time, where Alice’s Restaurant is/was. It was only open for a year and a half. No word on what happened to Alice. Anyway, we didn’t get back for the jam but I did wander down to Seaport to catch Gumbo Diablo. HOLY MOLY!!! I really like their blend of Cajun and Zydeco. Don’t miss them next time. Seems they are there once a month.

Sunday/Funday, my favorite weekly show, didn’t disappoint last week. Megan Mckenzie and Jeff Buckridge were the special guests and left everyone happy.

Last night, I had to keep one eye on the Red Sox and the other on MERJ down at the Pig. Now you know the Pig doesn’t have TV so I had to rely on my phone for updates. As you know, there was no need to be concerned as the Sox handed the Cardinals their hats and showed them the door. See you again tonight, SUCKERS. Back to the Pig, Jim and Roze never disappoint me and yeah, they played my fave song, Fisherman Blues. Just so happens Pam and I are headed to The Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury tonight to hear The Waterboys, the originators of my fave song. Jim and Roze are going too. I bought tix when they first went on sale, not thinking the Sox would be in the World Series. What was I thinking?

I had to stop at Opus (it’s “hardly out of the way”) on my way to hear the DEJAS and friends. WOW!!! This has evolved into quite a show. I was only there for a while but Eric Reardon, Callie Lipton, Aaron Katz and many others I don’t know, were in on THE MIX. I was hoping to catch Scary Mary but I won’t miss them Sunday at 6 at the Fountain stage on Essex St.

My picks in the coming week:

Lois Lane and the Daily Planets return to the Pig tonight (Thursday) for their monthly gig. I told you last month, they are a DO NOT MISS show. Not heading my own advice here, I’m headed to hear The Waterboys. But you should go to the Pig cus The Waterboys show is SOLD OUT.

Also tonight, this is the first show I am aware of besides the DEJAS weekly show, down at O_Underground, with Reggae Party, featuring High Hopes.  Again, sorry to miss this but I think it may be a weekly show. I’m just glad to see more acts performing in this new, very cool space. Check it out.

Friday, we have some friends coming to town for the weekend, staying at Hawthorne Hotel. We plan to venture out for din din then see if we can get in ANYWHERE on this last weekend of October in the Halloween Capitol of the Universe.

At 1PM on Sunday, October Bellydance Jam! is happening on Artist Row. HMMMM I might be interested in that. See you there.

Sunday/Funday. What else can I say? See you there too.

A couple of Halloweenie type shows going on, one being Scary Mary and the Audio Corsette at the fountain stage. 6PM Sunday. YUP! I’ll see you there too. BUSY BUSY.

There are Halloween parties going on all over town, too many to mention. My advice, if you dare, just go where you can get in. and ladies, don’t be afraid to wear that skimpy outfit you would only wear on Halloween. Us guys aren’t looking. MMMMHUMMM!!! I’m still looking for Cat Woman. I haven’t seen her in a few years. MEEYOW!!!

Get out there and enjoy the best Halloween party in the World. It will all be over in a week.
