Last week---

Pam and were out of town Thursday and Friday, both to attend a cool concert at an incredible

Venue and also to cruise the Kangamangus Highway during Peak Foliage. The venue, Stone

Mountain Art Center in Brownfield, Maine, known locally as SMAT, was built for music. I/we

Highly recommend you check it out: http://www.stonemountainartscenter.com/ArtsCenter/

We got home late afternoon, so I missed the Friday jam at the Pig, but I needed to meet a

friend at Seaport to hear The Transisters, who we are hiring for a retirement party in

November. Yep, they got me up dancing, if you can call it that. Great crowd too and such a fun

band.

Saturday found me back at Seaport for the incredible Julie Dougherty Band and their CD release

party. this was a SRO crowd tonight with everyone enjoying the show.

New work schedule for October allows me to attend my favorite weekly show, Sunday/Funday

back at, you guessed it, Seaport Café. Great to be back.

Last night, Wednesday, I wanted to hear Judy Rudds new band Thrift Store Roots Project at In a

Pigs Eye. I had heard Judy sing before, sometimes at the Friday Jam and most recently, she was

on my boat doing a personal “concert”.  Lovely voice and great band. Good luck guys. I hope to

see and hear you again soon.

My picks in the coming week:

The Friday Jam at In a Pigs Eye. No Brainer there.

Strung Out Playboys play at the Pig Saturday in what I think is their first show at this venue. I’ve been following Tony Gallo since I first heard him years ago when Tony’s Bar in Lynn used to have a jazz jam on Fridays. By the way, that’s also the first place I heard Julie Dukas on flute. I miss those days.

Sunday/Funday at Brodies Seaport. Come enjoy the best show in town, week after fookin week.

The Dejas and Friends have moved their weekly residency at OPUS from Thursday to Wednesday. Come check out this cool new listening room. I’m hoping they bring some other bands into this great room too.

This list was put together with much help from STANSLIST. See his site here:  http://www.stanslist.com  Thanks Stan.

Please excuse any incorrect spelling and omissions.

Go out and listen to some great LIVE music in the wonderful, strange, historic and hip town of Salem, Massachusenutts.

And tip your bartenders and servers.

And always check with the venue as times and schedules change. (and I sometimes Feck up)

See you around, friends. Have a great week.
