Last week---

I was out of town Thursday and Friday, so I missed all the shows those days, including Dave Bailin et al, and also the Jam but Saturday---

I wish there was better communication but it appears Murphys is back to having music Saturday afternoon. I didn’t find out till late but still made the last 2 sets of Britannica Band. I’ve seen a lot of these guys lately but I’m not sick of them yet. Another great show guys.

After, I stopped in at Brodies to catch a set or two from Lisa Marie and her band. It’s always a pleasure to hear the hardest working woman on the Boston Blues scene.

Pam was cleaning all weekend and if there is anything I hate more than watching Dancing with the Stars, it’s the sound of a vacuum cleaner. I tell you, it drives me to drink. Besides, Sunday/Funday was happening, so I had somewhere to escape to. I had forgotten that Monday was a holiday and that always brings a huge crowd out on Sunday afternoons, but it was worth battling them. And-- Diane Blue and Johnny Juxo were the special guests and special they were. PLUS--- I got to sing Happy Birthday to the other special guest, Ed Keenan.

Not to be outdone, In a Pigs Eye had my favorite local lady, Lois Lane and her great band, The Daily Planets. Whew. I’m sure the police were watching me and giggling on my trek home across the Commons. There are cameras there, you know. Great night!!!

Last night, Wednesday, I wanted some more Britannica, acoustic this time, so I headed on down to In a Pigs Eye again. As I said, I never get tired of these guys. I was only staying for one set and had paid my bill, when John and Peg walked in. You know the rest of the story.

My picks in the coming week:

Tonight, I may be crossing the bridge to finally hear the weekly blues jam up in Beverly at The Franco American Club. Joe Mack has been sending me info forever on this show and tonight, they will be celebrating 7 years here. Think about it and maybe I’ll see you there.

Henley Douglas and Friends will be tearing it up down the Pig tonight. Henleys shows are always a good take.

Opus Underground is hosting a Reggae band tonight, Thursday, with Why I Rise. I’ve told you before how cool this room is, so if you’re not crossing the bridge----

You know I have to mention my favorites, who play every 3rd Saturday at In a Pigs Eye, Juke Joint Five. Don’t forget your dancing shoes cus you’ll need them for some good old time Rhythm and Blues. The hardest working man on the scene, Silvertone Steve will knock your sox off. One of Silvertones other bands, The Transisters, rocked the place at a retirement party I helped out at last Thursday evening. So don’t feel too bad for me. I don’t miss much.

Sunday/Funday, always my Pick of the Week, this week with both Lisa Marie AND Silvertone Steve as special guests. Nothing to think of here. See ya there fer sure.
