Last week---
Thursday night, I wanted to catch Lois Lane and the Dailey Planets at the Pig because I missed their Hannah Glover show in August. Man O’ Man am I glad I went. Jen Reardon might want to check the seals on the windows before winter because these guys (and gal) shook the house. What a fun show. They even got ME up dancing, and you know how hard that is. They play around all the time. Don’t miss them next time.
Friday at the jam at the Pig again. I can’t get enough of this place and I wanted to check those windows. My new friends from Chicago were there too but their son did not bring his horn. Oh well, it was the usual great show anyway.
After, I wanted to hear Britanicca at Murphy’s so I walked (stumbled?) down there and was glad I did. Someone asked me why these guys played on Derby Wharf this past 4th of July, celebrating our victory over the Brits. Good question but the answer is, they are our own, homegrown Salem Rock and Roll band. They just play British rock
Pam was out of town last weekend attending her 20th HS reunion so I was solo all weekend. I did make it to The Shanty Saturday to hear Ronnie Black Hat, but was sitting inside for an outside show (I know, WTF?). The other show going on there was watching RJ trying to make time with a stunning beauty at the bar. Me and all the folks around me decided he didn’t stand a chance. How’d you make out RJ?
From there, I wend on down to Seaport to hear Jazzport, another regular. As usual, a great show.
My picks in the coming week:
Pam and I are headed north tonight (Thursday) so I’m gonna miss Dave Bailin and the Bailouts show at the Pig. You know this is a show I don’t usually miss but hey, foliage only comes once a year. But you should go and buy a drink for ‘Bailouts rodie Staci (did I spell that right?) funny, my spell check wants to say rowdy and that’s correct too.
The Friday Jam. Say no more. Say no more. Wink Wink. I hope to be home for some of this.
I’m helping out with a retirement party next month, so I have booked The Transisters for the party. Well, I guess I have to go down to Seaport, just to close the deal.
Work schedule has changed for October so I will be able to attend Sunday/Funday this week at Brodies Seaport, only the 2nd time since April. I’m looking forward to the special guest this week.
Henley Douglas returns Sunday night at the Pig for his monthly gig. Henley and his talented Friends are always a good take.
I’m thinking I may get Pam out to hear her (and my) favorites, VEIN at Grapevine on Tuesday. Again, work schedule change is allowing me to get out more. It will be good to hear them at a different venue where the neighbors won’t call the police on this hard rocking band. Last time I was here for brunch to hear Barrence and was headed to work in a few hours, so I wasn’t imbibing. That will not be the case tonight. Great food here too, if you haven’t tried it----
This list was put together with much help from STANSLIST. See his site here: http://www.stanslist.com Thanks Stan.

Go out and listen to some great LIVE music in the wonderful, strange, historic and hip town of Salem, Massachusenutts.
And tip your bartenders and servers.
And always check with the venue as times and schedules change. (and I sometimes Feck up)
See you around, Ghosts and Gobblins. Have a great week.
