In 1957, Ford Motor Company unveiled their most unpopular model ever, the Edsel. Every year there is an Edsel rally in Salem and I would love to own one.

In 1975, President Ford escaped an assassination attempt from Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme, a close follower of mass murder Charles Manson, in Sacramento, California.

Another fun week was had in Salem and on the North Shore this week. I was pressing peeps to go on the final Mahi Mahi cruise with Lois Lane and company, but ended up not going myself because of the sucky weather. Instead I found myself back at OPUS for another great show by The DEJAS and friends. You have to check out this room. And, they talked management into forgoing the $5 cover. Such a deal.

Pam found some tix on Groupon so we took a sail on Salem’s own privateer, Fame, Friday afternoon.  Thanks Cap’t Ed and crew.

I followed that, getting my weekly fix down at the jam at In a Pigs Eye, then on to The Shanty for some Vein. What a beautiful day and night.

Saturday was what I think was the last show from Barrence Whitfield and the Savages, before their Europe Tour, outside at The Black Lobster.  Another great, New England night on the water. Better enjoy it while you can, Peeps.

The next three nights I spent working on the water but Monday brought in some of the thickest fog I have ever seen. Good thing I knew my way home in the 25’ visibility. But I did get to hear Gretchen Bostrom and Silverton Steve, with Bobby Leger for the end of their set Tuesday at the Pig, for the monthly TwoforTwosday show.

Last night was din din in Gloucester followed by drinks at Madfish Grill. They close for the season this weekend so get your butts up there. What a spectacular location for sunset. Note to Joe---Kim doesn’t work there anymore.

My picks in the coming week:

Tonight, Thursday, of course it’s the best Rock and Roll around with Dave Bailin and the Bailouts, down at In a Pig’s Eye. You got to love these guys. And, as always, my Pick of the Evening

I’ve been telling you ‘bout the new room in town, OPUS, where The DEJAS and Friends hold their weekly sessions. You have to check out this room and The DEJAS are a perfect match. It also qualify’s as “hardly out of the way”. See you there.

I don’t think I need to tell you about the jam at the Pig friday again, do i??? Just be there. STFU!!!

The Transistors are at Brody’s Seaport friday. These fun guys will have you up dancing and singing so be prepared.

Sunday/Funday is the weekly spectacular at Brody’s Seaport and it’s something I have been missing all summer. I’ll be back soon folks cus summer is coming to an end. Sorry to remind you.

I actually took Sunday off this week because I have to attend the best blues party of the year down in Norton. Heatherfest is in it’s 19th year and this is going to be another great one. It looks to me that the weather will cooperate again with a cool and sunny afternoon. Each year I’m guessing between 500 and 1000 peeps show up in Heathers back yard. It’s amazing but it always goes off without a hitch. (Heather might disagree with that). I’ve always said, Blues fans are the best, thoughtful, trouble free, carefree peeps in the world. Everyone is invited, just get youseff there. Check it out here--- http://heatherfest.com/

This list was put together with much help from STANSLIST. See his site here:  http://www.stanslist.com  Thanks Stan.

Please excuse any incorrect spelling and omissions.

Go out and listen to some great LIVE music in the wonderful, strange, historic and hip town of Salem, Massachusenutts.

And tip your bartenders and servers.

And always check with the venue as times and schedules change. (and I sometimes Feck up)

Peace, Love and Zydeco!!!
