Last week---

I missed the final night of the season at The Lobster Shanty last night. The last 2 years it’s been so crowed I couldn’t get in. but I did get down on the 14th to have a few with Dave and company. Gonna miss yous guys. Thanks to all and see you April 1. Oh yeah. One more thing.     I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!

I wasn’t going to go out so early because I really wanted to hear The Transisters last Friday. But Mike was persistent so I HAD to meet him at Naumkeag Ordinary for a bite to drink, then on to The Pig for the Friday spectacular, where the lovely Emily O’Brien joined us. We stayed for the full set, then I went over to Brodies for The Transisters show. After 5 hours I had enough. (and they probably had just about enough of me too).

Sunday, I just had to return to Brodies for my favorite show of the week, Sunday/Funday. Last Sunday it was Megan McKenzie and Jeff Buckridge filling in as special guests. You know I kinda have to go to these shows because I will be back working Sunday afternoons in 12 short weeks. And I’ll miss most of these shows all summer. Work Work Work. It never ends.

I did catch a bit of the fabulous Gracie Curran after, over at In a Pigs Eye. This is always a great way to close out the weekend. This retirement shite is hard work.

My picks in the coming week:

More great shows this weekend, starting tonight, out of town and over the bridge at Chianti in Beverly, where Big Ol Dirty Bucket will perform their own brand of funkiness. Show starts at 8. Maybe see ya there.

Tomorrow, of course the weekly jam at the Pig is always happening and always fab. After, git yourself over to Brodies to see and hear The Hot Tub Pirahanas. Now I don’t believe I have heard this band but I know I’ve heard good stuff about them. Get on down and check them out.

I got a personal message from Corey that music would be happening every other Saturday afternoon at Murphy’s but I can’t find anything on their Facebook page. The only option I guess is just go check it out.

Later, those old time bluesers from Beantown are back in town. Juke Joint Five are back at In a Pigs Eye for their monthly 3rd  Saturday show. You can’t possibly go wrong with this band. And be prepared to dance.

I’ve missed them the last couple of shows and I hate when that happens. The MERJ are down at Brodies Saturday night giving us some lively Celtic, Rock, Blues and Folk. Again, be prepared to dance and sing along. Love these guys. And--- Hardly out of the way!!!

Sunday/Funday, this week featuring Allizon Lizzance and Ed Sheer, is sure to bring a smile. Again, I don’t think I’m familiar with these guys but that makes it all the better for me. Stop in for a listen to the best show in town. AND---Pats in a 14 point upset victory. You heard it here.

Lois Lane and the Dailey Planets finish you off nicely at In a Pigs Eye Sunday Night. Your feet are gonna be hurting Monday. Dance Dance Dance.

This list was put together with much help from STANSLIST. See his site here:  http://www.stanslist.com  Thanks Stan.

Please excuse any incorrect spelling and omissions. But sometimes I make up words too, CORDWANGERS!!!

Go out and listen to some great LIVE music in the wonderful, strange, historic and hip town of Salem, Massachusenutts.

And tip your bartenders and servers.

And always check with the venue as times and schedules change. (and I sometimes Feck up)
