My picks in the coming week:

Thursday:

2 Bass Hit down at the Pig. I believe this is one of Henley’s many bands and every one is the BOMB

Friday:

The Blues Jam down at In a Pigs Eye, 4:15ish to 7:15ish. What can I say that I don’t say every week but DON’T MISS IT!!!! You can find me here today, oh yeah. Been too long

Saturday:

Lisa Marie brings her down home blues to the Seaport tonight. The hardest working woman on the Boston Blues scene

Lois Lane and the Daily Planets take the stage at Howlin Wolf tonight. If you haven’t heard these guys, now’s your chance.

A double bill at Village Tavern, what with Ronnie “Blackhat” Deschenes at 4PM followed by Vein at 9PM. I haven’t heard Ronnie but I hear good things about him. And maybe I can get Pam to come out to hear her faves, Vein.

Sunday:

Another great double bill starting with O’l Brown Shoe at 2PM and Dis n Dat at 8PM over at the outside patio at The Black Lobster. POOP. And I have to work.

Sunday/Funday  at Seaport. Just my opinion but I think this is the best show in town, week after week. Always great music and a fun crowd that doesn’t want to give up the weekend.

Shows you may have missed---

I thought I would be out of town till late and got the night off from work, Surprise, I was home early and able to catch a couple of great shows sunday afternoon. Barrence Whitfield, backed up by the Jacknive Valentines shook me to my soul at The Lobster Shanty, with a 3PM show.

I followed that with a visit to my favorite show, Sunday/Funday down at Seaport. Lydia Warren was this weeks special guest and she showed with her bass player who, sorry but I didn’t catch his name. as always, Chris Fitz and Steve Peabody (PEABODY!!!!) were on top of their game.

This list was put together with much help from STANSLIST. See his site here:  http://www.stanslist.com  Thanks Stan.

Please excuse any incorrect spelling and omissions.

Go out and listen to some great LIVE music in the wonderful, strange, historic and hip town of Salem, Massachusenutts.

And tip your bartenders and servers.

And always check with the venue as times and schedules change. (and I sometimes Feck up)

Today’s picture was taken several years ago and features a few well known characters. Harold Murray, shown catching a few winks between songs, along with Heather Mckibben, of Heatherfest fame, Joe’s Joe’s Wall’s Wall’s and Mike Broderick, both of Salem. The picture was taken late night on the deck, on the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise, somewhere in the Caribbean.

Have a great week, Yeh Goats.
