Ok, one more week of this and I’m off on a 2 month sojourn to the Motherland. I’m headed out February 1st for Ireland and will return on March 29. In the meantime, John Andrews is going to entertain you with his take on happenings around town. John is in touch with the music scene and promotes several of the bands you read about here. Besides that, I always have a link at the bottom of this blog for Stanslist, which is where I get most of my info. I will do a blog next week but then, April at the earliest. Have fun and GET UP and DANCE.

Monday, January 28

In a Pigs Eye has Dave Bailin doing the open mic tonight.

Shows you may have missed:

I’m really not a big fan of open mic’s but I stopped into Murphy’s last Wednesday, where Dave Bailin was running one. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I missed the names of some performers, but a standout, from behind the bar comes this very attractive bartender, singing the Beatles “I wanna hold your hand” she got a standing ovation from all in the room. I’ll catch your name next time. I sure hope there is a next time.

Thursday, I finally made it over to 43 Church to hear the Dejas present The Session I love seeing and hearing The Dejas but this is different. Again, I missed the names of several performers, but I have met Jacyn Tremblay, and was very impressed with her bluesy voice when I first heard her a few months back at the Hurricane Sandy Relief Concert  (Which BTW was promoted by John Andrews, among others). Anyway, I stayed for the entire show. I’ll be back.

The weekly Jam at In a Pigs Eye. What can I say? It’s a do not miss show!!!

Sorry to say, Joe Mack called in sick for last Friday’s show at Howling Wolf. Hope you’re feeling better Joe.

The weekly Jam at The Village Tavern on Saturdays is turning out to be a very good take. If we all support it, I think they will continue. See you there at 4.

Sunday/Funday at Brodies Seaport Café, with Rusty Scott on B-3 Organ.  What a great show.

Please excuse any incorrect spelling and omissions.

Go out and listen to some great LIVE music in the wonderful, strange, hip town of Salem.

And tip your bartenders and servers.

And always check with the venue as times and schedules change. (and I sometimes mess up)

Hope to see you out there!

Today’s picture was taken last Sunday morning at sunrise at Singing Beach in Manchester. It was a beautiful morning and I got a free breakfast after with a beautiful woman.
