Delvis returns to Howling Wolf.

And at Pigs Eye, there is Vanilla Manvelope.  Sarah and Eric will rock your soul. Accompanied by Chris Sink, Joe Cesarz and Jim Larkin, this five piece is the hottest act around. They are going places, so don’t miss this show. My PICK OF THE NIGHT

Find out what's happening in Salemwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Another great local act, Dave Bailin and the Bailouts are at Seaport Café.  Again, my PICK OF THE NIGHT. I don’t need to explain again how to handle two great bands in the same ‘hood on the same night, DO I????

Gulu Gulu has Jeff Gately

Finz is featuring Michael Mazola

Vic’s Station is hosting their weekly open mic with Nick Consone

The Lobster Shanty is featuring the lovely Dannie Burnette tonight, for her first appearance at this venue. I first heard Dannie many years ago, when she sang for the band Barrelhouse, at the old mex restaurant in Marblehead. Can’t remember the name.  I’ve been a fan ever since, but she doesn’t get out enough. I hate to say, I’m going to miss this show tonight because I work till 10 and I think she’ll be done. But YOU don’t have that excuse. Catch her cus she’s HOTT.        Can I claim this 3 times in the same night? My PICK OF THE NIGHT.

Not sure if it’s an oversight but Scratch Kitchen is still not showing any events on their web page. Also, the Black Lobster web page is shut down. I hope this is just technical difficulties cus these are great rooms.

Friday, June 15

O’Neill’s has Irish Session from 6-9PM tonight and every Friday.

The weekly blues jam at In a Pigs Eye. Start time is around 4:15. A great way to start the weekend.  Get there early!!!

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The Lobster Shanty has their house band Vein tonight and every Friday night. Always a great show. Stop by for a listen. It’s gonna be a perfect night to listen outside.

Danny Heath is at Finz tonight.

Seaport Cafe is featuring The Erinn Brown Band.  You seven guys that read this blog know I love these guys. Two lovely ladies backed up by the amazing, energetic Steve Peabody (PBD). My PICK OF THE NIGHT. Don’t miss them in this great room. And try their Fish and Chips to sop up all that booze you’ve been drinking. (sorry, just talking to myself)

The popular nightspot Rockafellas has Spike The Punch. This is a fun room to practice all your fancy footwork. They draw a younger crowd than this “mature” man is used to but lots of fun to be had here. Check it out.

Tonight, Gulu Gulu has the Fishing The Sky.

North Shore Acoustic Project are at Howling Wolf tonight. And remember, they have a full bar now to go with your taco’s.

43 Church has Brian Maes. This room was made for a talent like Brian. Stop in for a listen.

Saturday, June 16

The Jackleg Preachers return to Murphys for their weekly jam. Lots of talent show and step up to the mic for your entertainment. Shows run 4:15ish to 7ish

O’Neill’s has Irish music from 6-9PM tonight and every Saturday.

Cannibal Ramblers (formerly Sit Down Baby) are at In Pigs Eye tonight.

The Lobster Shanty has 3 Toed Sloth tonight. Look for another nice night on the patio.

Seaport Café has The Merg. Jim and Roze will have you on the dance floor so be sure to bring your dancing shoes. Kinda makes me “wish I was a fisherman”                                                        yup, they are my PICK OF THE NIGHT.

Rockafellas has Drop Zone for your dancing pleasure.

Happy Accident is at Vic’s Boathouse.

Howling Wolf has Jeff Buckridges Uke Joint tonight. They also now have a full liquor license and great food. You won’t believe this but last week’s blog had them here on the 9th. Sorry. See my disclaimer below.

Sunday, June 17

40 year anniversary of the Watergate Hotel break-in today. Those of you who know me well know why I remember this. And it has nothing to do with Richard Nixon

Sunday/Funday is the weekly jam at Seaport Café, starting around 4:00. This week’s special guest is Erinn Brown This is my favorite show in town every week. And this week’s feature is Erinn!!! That alone makes it my PICK OF THE AFTERNOON.

O’neills has their weekly Irish Session starting around 4 today. Bring the kids. It’s that kind of show. And Guinness is good for you.

John Aruda and Friends are at In a Pigs Eye tonight. I’ll be there.

Howling Wolf has Steve Spungin. It’s looking like Steve is going to be a Sunday regular here.

Ross Livermore, Paul Dumas and Neil Taylor return to Vics Station

Monday, June 18

The lovely and beautiful Julie Dougherty returns to Greenland Café tonight. Nice lady with the voice of an angel.

In a Pigs Eye has Open Mic Night every Monday night, with a different host every week. Check it out. This week’s host is Orville Giddings

Wednesday, June 20 Every Wednesday, Rockafella’s hosts a Latin Salsa Dance Party. Come by at 8 and learn some moves. There is a paid admission for dance lessons but a great way to meet similar minded people. The party continues after 10 with you using all the moves you have learned. Again, bring your dancing shoes. Chris will be behind the bar mixing drinks and harassing ME. Hope for a nice night for outside seating too.

My dear friend, Elle Gallo, along with Chris Fitz play at In a Pigs Eye tonight. As I write this, I’m listening to Elle’s album “Yes I Am”  She knows I come to hear her whenever I can and I will be at tonight’s show.

This list was put together with much help from STANSLIST.COM and also LINDASLIST. Thanks Stan and Linda.

Please excuse any incorrect spelling and omissions.

Go out and listen to some great LIVE music in the wonderful, hip town of Salem.

And tip your bartenders and servers.

And always check with the venue as times and schedules change. (and I sometimes mess up)

Hope to see you out there!

Today’s picture is Callie Lipton, from one of my favorite Salem based bands, The Dejas, playing a few weeks back at Howling Wolf.
