Power Outage Impacts Thousands in Salem

The power went out to thousands of National Grid customers in Salem Thursday.


Thousands of customers in North Salem saw their power go out shortly before noon on Thursday. 

At 12:20 p.m., 2,603 customers were without power, according to this National Grid power outage map.

At 1 p.m., the city announced that National Grid and the Salem Electrical Department have reported a downed transmission line that is causing wide-spread power outages throughout Salem.

By about 2 p.m., power had been restored.
