Hey Salem, Tell Us About Your Commute

We want to know about your daily commute.

On Tuesday, we published this interactive map offering a snapshot of how many minutes it generally takes Salem residents to get to work.

Then, we posted a shout-out to our Salem Patch Facebook page asking our fans to let us know more about their daily commutes and this is what you had to say:

Marsha Finkelstein: Depends on where I'm going. I live in South Salem near Salem State and it's a bear to get to 128 from here.

Amy Al-Nabulsi: Canal street to get to Beverly, going down Washington, is like 15 mins and and you haven't even left Salem yet.

Sciencegrrl Jones: I assume you mean by car? My train commute door to door is 90 min each way.

Kristin Eckhardt: 20 minute walk to work=)

Rana Jezzini: From Loring Ave, thought Canal Street to downtown Salem, it takes over 30 minutes. It's horrible! If I wasn't lazy, I could probably get there faster walking.

Janice Sheppard: The intersection blocking at derby/washington streets can be a nightmare. Holds up traffic.

Laurie Helger Eline: Lafayette street to north street can take 20 minutes in the afternoon it's crazy, Lafayette street, Washington street and north street are bad going both ways everyday.

Gloria Jemery: I live by Kings and the commute is easy. I moved from Jefferson Ave because I couldn't leave Salem!

Ken McTague: gridlock all day at derby and washington... meanwhile a block away a cop directs traffic at essex and washington, an intersection of a one way street.

Ken Patten: An hour and change. Would be half that but getting to S. Station from N. Station is ridiculously difficult.

How long is your commute? Where do you run into trouble?
