1. It should be a brisk fall day in Salem. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be mostly sunny, with a high near 44. 3. A local woman was arrested on Loring Avenue early Wednesday morning after allegedly driving into a Salem police cruiser while under the influence and a Lynn man was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license for the sixth time. 4. The Salem City Council will meet tonight in Council Chambers at City Hall. The meeting, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., is expected to feature the appointment of a new Parks and Recreation Director, according to the posted agenda.
