3. The Salem City Council will meet tonight at City Hall on Washington Street. The meeting, scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., is expected to feature a discussion regarding the upcoming repairs to the North Street Fire Station, according to the posted agenda

4. In case you didn't see it yesterday, we published a post offering a look around the interior of the Salem Fire Department's new $1.1 million fire apparatus. Click Here to check it out.

5. Today in History: On Sept. 12, 1979, Indonesia was hit with an earthquake that measured an 8.1 on the Richter scale.
