Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day in Salem.


Today is Wednesday, Oct. 23, and here are the five things you need to know: 

1. You can expect it to feel a bit colder out there today. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be increasingly cloudy, with a high near 53. Tonight should be clear, with a low around 35. (sunrise, 7:06 a.m.; low tide, 8:31 a.m.; high tide, 2:44 p.m.; sunset, 5:48 p.m.)

2. Salem's Design Review Board will meet tonight at the City Hall Annex on Washington Street. The meeting, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., is expected to feature a discussion regarding signage at A&B Burgers and Turner's Seafood, according to the posted agenda

3. Salem High School's Music Department will host its annual Fall Concert tonight at the high school. The concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the school's M. Ruth Norton Auditorium. Click Here for all the details.
