Discovery Channel's 'Ghost Lab' May Film in Salem

Today is Tuesday, Oct. 15, and here are the five things you need to know: 

1. It should be another nice fall day in Salem. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be sunny, with a high near 64. Tonight should be partly cloudy, with a low around 47. (sunrise, 6:56 a.m.; high tide, 8:39 a.m.; low tide, 2:43 p.m.; sunset, 6:00 p.m.) 

2. It looks like an episode of Discovery Channel's Ghost Lab will be filming in Salem. Salem's Park and Recreation Commission is scheduled to sit down with a representative of Paper Route Productions tonight to discuss a filming request. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. at the Senior Center on Broad Street. 

3. The Salem Licensing Board will meet tonight on the third floor of the City Hall Annex on Washington Street. The meeting, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., is expected to feature a discussion regarding A&B Salem's plan to move in to the space formerly occupied by Great Escape Restaurant, according to the posted agenda.

5. Today in History: On Oct. 15, 1928, the airship Graf Zeppelin completed the first trans-Atlantic flight when it landed in Lakehurst, N.J.
