Londi's Roast Beef & Pizza May Be Coming to Salem

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day in Salem.


Today is Tuesday, Nov. 12, and here are the five things you need to know: 

1. You'll want to be prepared for snow-showers this morning. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect snow before 10 a.m. and a daily high near 41. Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low around 27. (sunrise, 6:31 a.m.; low tide, 12:27 p.m.; sunset, 4:23 p.m.; high tide, 6:47 p.m.)

2. The Salem Licensing Board will meet Tuesday night on the third floor of the City Hall Annex on Washington Street. The meeting, scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., is expected to feature a discussion regarding the potential opening of Londi's Roast Beef on Traders Way, according to the posted agenda

3. Hundreds of city residents made their way to Salem High School Monday morning to honor our local veterans during the city's annual Veterans Day Ceremony Click Here for our full story.

4. If you're heading out in Salem this week, just remember it is Salem's Fall Restaurant Week. Participating Salem restaurants will offer either a two-course prix-fixe dinner menu for $18, or a three-course prix-fixe dinner menu for $28, or both (note that this price does not include drinks, taxes or gratuities). The deals will run from Sunday, Nov. 10 to Thursday, Nov. 14.

5. Today in History: On Nov. 12, 1993, the first Ultimate Fighting Championship event, UFC1, was held in Denver, Colorado.
