City of Salem Accepting Small Business Loan Applications

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day in Salem.


Today is Thursday, Jan. 9, and here are the five things you need to know: 

1. It will feel a bit warmer out there today. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be sunny, with a high near 26. Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low around 18. (sunrise, 7:12 a.m.; low tide, 11:43 a.m.; sunset, 4:28 p.m.; high tide, 6:01 p.m.) 

2. The Salem Mayor's Office announced Wednesday that it is now accepting applications for financial assistance to small business owners and entrepreneurs through the City’s Small Business Loan Program. This funding is provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant program. An application and more information about this program are available at www.salem.com.

3. The newly-reorganized Salem City Council will meet for the first time tonight at City Hall on Washington Street. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Click Here to view the posted agenda.
