Put Your Yard Waste Out This Week in Salem

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day in Salem.

Today is Tuesday, Dec. 3, and here are the five things you need to know

1. It will be a foggy morning in Salem. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be cloudy, with a high around 44. Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low around 33. (sunrise, 6:55 a.m.; high tide, 10:44 a.m.; sunset, 4:10 p.m.; low tide, 5:09 p.m.)

2. Yard waste will be picked up curbside in Salem this week. Residents are asked to place their leaves and grass clippings in brown paper yard waste bags or uncovered garbage cans curbside on the same day that their trash is picked up. Click Here for more information.

3A&B Salem officially opened for business Monday evening in the former Great Escape Restaurant space on St. Peter Street. Click Here for a look around downtown Salem's newest business.

4. The Salem Cemetery Commission will meet tonight on the third floor of the City Hall Annex on Washington Street. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., according to the posted agenda.

5. Today in History: On Dec. 3, 1976, an assassination attempt was made on Bob Marley. He was shot twice, but played in a concert two days later.
