Housewives Tarot (2004)

I was enchanted the first moment I saw this deck. The imagery is classic 1950s kitschy advertisements. It's packaged to look like it's a recipe box; when you open the box, the cards are filed "Major Arcana", "Minor Arcana", and "Instruction Book." The suits are Cups (martini glasses, iced tea glasses, lemonade glasses, coffee mugs, etc), Wands (feather dusters, mops, brooms, etc), Swords (knives, scissors, pruning shears, etc), and Pentacles (which look like dishes with a five pointed star on them).

I like using this deck with someone who can appreciate the humor and charm of the artwork. While the artwork is meant to be playful and fun, the descriptions in the instruction book lead you to a kernel of serious interpretation of the card. You will still get an accurate, useful reading out of this deck, but you will have smiles along the way. It's a nice deck to use for someone who is a little timid about the tarot; the art makes it very approachable.
