This empty commercial space on Lafayette Street is looking for a new tenant. What would you like to see move in?
The commercial space on Lafayette Street that used to house the Lafayette Market is currently looking for a new tenant.
As part of our Visions for Vacancies column, we want to know - what kind of business do you think should move in at this location?
Have you been hoping for a certain kind of business to come to town? Is there something you think would thrive in this section of Salem?

Salem PD recently collaborated to open the "On Point" community house on Leavitt Street. They have a presence in the neighborhood.

Derek, as long as we can incorporate your "drive in" theater to the exterior wall.....I see no issues in this venture.

The store is already going to be something. ALPrime is in agreement to buy the building and is going to be rebuilding the entire corner of the block to make a larger, safer, way better gas station and store on the property.
They were just stopped from having 24hour a day gas, which is awesome, but as far as you asking what should go here, you should have asked what IS going here?
