What Should Go In This Front Street Space?
Play developer — what should go in Marketplace Quilts' old space?
Marketplace Quilts has found a new location, and that has left the corner spot at 6 Front Street wide open.
The building is located steps away the Fire Department, Derby Square and Artists' Row.
If you had the resources and the authority to decide what would go here, what would you choose?
Tell us in the comments.

I would choose some sort of art/craft-related business such as a weaving studio or maybe glassblowing, though I don't know how universally appealing that would be. I love Front Street's crafty vibe. It would be nice to see it as a destination for people who like to work with their hands.

I so wish that I could have it for a herb & skincare store that doesn't cater to "witches".

Something along the lines of a ceramics store, the sort where you pick out the piece, clean & paint it, the piece gets fired, etc. I know there's a place on Cabot Street as you drive into Beverly but the parking is crap and it seems so small & dingy from the street. This would be a nice compliment to that arts n'craft vibe of Front Street that Mary Lee mentioned in her comment.

Lisa, I bring my kids to the Clay Dreaming on Cabot St. in Beverly. The parking is a little tough because it's downtown, but it's beautiful inside. Definitely worth checking it out. :)

Boston Bead Company would love to see another craft related business join us on Front Street. We think a Stitch Lounge - fabric, patterns, notions for clothing and crafting, sew by the hour, sewing classes etc - would be the perfect compliment.

@Carson Eddy. i LOVE your idea!! the space could not hold a place as fabulous as Zimman's in downtown Lynn, but still...i think Salem & Northshore residents would totally be psyched to have a store like that.
i miss Cornerstone Books & would love to see another cool, independent bookstore in downtown Salem.
