What Should Go in Healthworks Old Location?

Play developer, and tell us what should go in this Highland Avenue spot.

Healthworks Fitness Center's location on Highland Avenue closed on April 30 after 33 years in business, leaving an empty commercial space.

Some work has been done to the wiring in the ceiling, and there's been some work on the floors, but the space is currently empty, and there haven't been any public announcements that something else is moving in.

All that's left from Healthworks is a sign announcing the closure, complete with a list of the company's other locations.

Take a look at the photo attached to this article. If you had the resources and the authority to decide what would go at the old Healthworks location, what would you choose?

Tell us in the comments.

If you'd like us to get reader input on a certain vacant spot in the city, be sure to let us know in the comments, and we would be happy to feature it.

Unless you are handicapped, the parking is fine. There are hundreds of parking spaces near the post office and Dodge Street which are, in my experience, always available. From there it's less than a five minute walk to City Hall. For the handicapped there are spaces available in front of the building. Unfortunately, for most of those who complain about parking in Salem, extreme laziness is not (yet) considered a handicap.
