Just a guess, but after two years of cancellations it's possible that they didn't want to take the risk on all that product.

I know Fran & Diane's has scheduling issues (they were short-staffed this week), they catered the kids' triathlon on Sunday, though. Not sure about the other restaurants. Hope we get a couple of them back next year, although it was nice to see a couple of new places this time!

Thanks Josh and you are right...My son and another team member are on vacation. We didn't receive any notice about the contest until someone called us last Thursday I believe. By then it was too late and we had a huge order for GU2 Thursday nite and the triathalon on Sunday for 30 pizzas. Between our regular customers and feeding the crew from GU2, we have been over the top busy. Hopefully, things will work out for next year...but for this year, congratulations to the winners and sorry we weren't there!

Why did most of the vendors show up late? It was very disappointing this year. They were late, there were only 5 of them, and they all gave half slices. It was not as good as other years.

This year seems to be a little flat. I am no fan of the hot dog, sausage,or lemonade vendors but the did create a party atmosphere.Where have they been? No parade,no fireworks I feel like Heritage Days in Salem is dying.
