VIDEO: Joan Lovely Celebrates Primary Win
Lovely and supporters joined at the Moose Lodge in Salem Thursday night to celebrate her victory.
Joan Lovely said her victory in the Second Essex Senate race primary was a team effort, and she plans on succeeding Sen. Fred Berry with a November win against republican challenger Richard Jolitz.
After the win was made official, Lovely joined supporters, which included Salem Mayor Kimberley Driscoll, Rep. John Keenan, Police Chief Paul Tucker, city councilors and school committee members at the Moose Lodge — headquarters for her campaign during Thursday's election.
Lovely thanked her family, supporters, Berry and even her opponents — Edward Carroll, Mary-Ellen Manning and John Slattery — during her acceptance speech.
"It's not easy to put your name on the ballot," Lovely said while congratulating her opponents on a hard-fought race.
In total, 20 percent of Salem's registered voters turned out for the race.

I am not at all proud of Joan "not very" Lovely. Here is a riddle to ponder while we await word of whether phony Joanie will give up her city council job if she wins the senate seat. Hey Aubry please ask her! I'm sure Jason "Double Dipper" Silva can give ol Joanie some good advice. Riddle me this, has anyone seen Mike "Sergeant" Schultz-"I know nothing", Derek Barcikoski, Jason Silva & Arthur Powell in the same room? I suspect they may be the same person!. Cant you guys all get together with Tisei and get the trans gender bathroom bill passed! Thats such an important piece of legislation! Plus GREAT NEWS seeing David Eppley get beat! Worst campaign signs ever!
