Salemites gathered Wednesday night to send off the old year (and their Christmas) trees at Dead Horse Beach during the 8th Annual Christmas Tree Bonfire.
Hundreds, including the mayor, gathered to countdown and ignite the fire, enjoy hot cocoa and warm up with good company.
The bonfire was fueled by Christmas trees picked up from residences across the City and hand-delivered to the beach by residents.
