Stranger Allegedly Slaps Men in Bill and Bob's Lot

The following was provided by the Salem Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

The Salem Police responded to the following calls and made the following arrests this weekend.

Friday Arrests

Pedro Hernandez Chavez, 21, of 27 Boston St. in Lynn was arrested on charges of operating without being licensed and violation of DPW rules and regulations.

Marshall Rakeen Glover, 22, of 320 Lafayette St. was arrested on charges of possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute and manufacture or distribution of a class D substance.

Cesar Rosales-Hernandez, 32, of 5 Oxford St. in Lynn was arrested on charges of operating without being licensed and a marked lanes violation.

Timothy Andrew Sheys, 36, of 106 Shallowford Road in Easley, S.C. was arrested on two warrants.

Saturday, June 23

1:14 a.m. — A suspicious man in the bushes was reported on Washington Street. Police were not able to find anyone.

4:47 a.m. — Police said a vibrating floor was reported on Lafayette Street. The responding officer could not here anything or feel the reported vibration.

11:33 a.m. — A drive-thru overflow was reported at Bagel World. The officer said there wasn't an issue when he was arrived, but this wasn't the first time police have responded to the restaurant for the same problem.

11:39 a.m. — A Summer Street caller reported her front door was keyed, and a profane word was written.

1:36 p.m. — Police said a child's hands got stuck in a machine on Boston Street. The child was freed without incident.

2:40 p.m. — A minister with a microphone was reported on Leavitt Street. The man was advised to keep it down, police said.

4:07 p.m. — A stolen planter was reported on School Street.

10:37 p.m. — Possibly intoxicated kids were reported at Derby and Congress streets. Police found three boys who were "highly intoxicated." All three were taken into protective custody.

10:59 p.m. — Possilble gunshots fired were reported on Loring Avenue. Police said they were not able to find any evidence of gunshots.

Sunday, June 24

12:28 a.m. — Four men told police they were slapped by an unknown man while eating in front of Bill and Bob's. When they arrived, officers spoke to the men who said they were eating when a grey vehicle pulled up in the parking space next to them. The men told police a large man "got out and slapped all of them," before getting back in the car. After the alleged incident, the car drove down Bridge Street.

12:33 a.m. — An undesirable man was reported in a Norman Street store.


3:42 a.m. — A man was taken into protective custody on Derby Street after he gave police multiple versions of an alleged assault he said occured earlier in the night.

3:35 a.m. — Police said a man told them he was having a family party on Palmer street when an uninvited guest arrived and started a fist fight with him. The man said he was hit "with a closed fist on the left side of the face." The alleged assailant left the scene by the time police arrived.

1:37 p.m. — Two woman using their grandmother's credit card was reported on East India Square.

4:06 a.m. — A possible structure fire was reported on Grove Street. Police said the Salem Fire Department found a small outside fire which was quickly extinguished.
