POLICE: No Reason for Alarm after Pioneer Terrace Stabbing Incident

The man, who was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital is expected to survive.

A stabbing victim was found on Pioneer Terrace Monday morning, according to scanner reports.

Based on a preliminary investigation, police do not believe there is foul play, a suspect at large or any threat to the community.

"It's not something the rest community needs to be in fear of," Capt. Thomas Griffin said.

The person was found outside with multiple wounds just before 8 a.m., reports indicated. The Salem Police said a passerby saw the man by a row of benches near the community gardens and contacted the department.

The victim was transported by ground to Massachusetts General Hospital.

The injuries are not believed to be life threatening, and the man was transported via ambulance, police said.

The Salem Police are investigating the incident.

The Salem Fire Department assisted police at the scene.

Foul play was not involved in multiple stab wounds??? Perhaps some "preliminary" elaboration here?

I would assume this means the victim knows the attacker and it was not a random act or robbery.

Nothing to see here, move along. With no info on a suspect or an arrest, I expect a little more from you SPD. Unless of course this guy stabbed himself a bunch of times

It makes me sad and angry that you all feel like the police are hiding something from the community. Have more faith and trust in your law enforcement officers, they know what they are doing. If they say there is no imminent danger and threat, just accept that. Clearly they know more about what happened that perhaps does not need to be broadcast.

No suspect at large, no foul play sounds like self-inflicted.

That is exactly what I was thinking, Klassy.

Sadly, this is another result of the expansion of the "point". If there is anything in this city that works,it's without doubt the fire and police departments.
