UPDATED: Show Your Patriotism

Welcome to "About Town," your guide to all that you need to know and all the juicy tidbits you may have missed.

How about Dinner?

Milk and Honey Green Grocer has a ton of healthy, delicious, and fast grab and go dinner options. Stop by after you leave the voting polls tonight and pick up a broccoli cheddar quiche, sausage lasagna, or the shanghai dumplings. You can also stock up on yummy snacks and fresh, local kitchen staples.

And a Drink

Right next door to Milk and Honey is Salem Wine Imports. Stop by tonight after 6:30 p.m. for their weekly wine tasting event. Sample wines from around the world and find out what will pair best with those Shanghai Dumplings you just picked up!

Show Some Patriotism

It doesn't really matter what you think of the candidates, you can still celebrate our democracy and show a little patriotism on election day! How about starting your day with an Americano from Front Street Coffeehouse? If you happen to stop by around lunchtime, you can also order the Elvis Club sandwich, it's a delicious combo of meats and veggies. Plus, you can't get much more American than Elvis.

Get Going!

Courtney Harris Heath of Seed Stitch Fine Yarn wants to remind us that there are only 53 more days until Christmas! That means you better get moving on all of those holiday projects. Hoping to knit or crochet some warm and cozy sweaters, stockings, or blankets for your loved ones? You should stop by Seed Stitch for some inspiration or one of their fantastic classes!

Celebrate

Happy First Birthday to RoOst! In celebration of the one year milestone, owners Kate Leavy and Jamie Metsch are offering a savings of 20% off all in-stock merchandise on their bday, this Saturday, Nov. 6. Another way to get a head start on the holidays — they have some lovely hostess gifts!

Milly Update

Remember Milly, the poor lost puppy? Thanks to the hard work of those at the Northeast Animal Shelter and Salem Animal Control Officer Donald Famico, Milly's story has a happy ending. The Salem Police are also working hard to reconnect lots pets with their owners. They now have a place on their webpage where you can post a photo of your lost pet, or of a pet you have found. It's a great free service!
