Shadow is Looking for His Forever Home

Salem residents are working to find a home for a dog they took in a few weeks ago.

Jennifer and Scott were sitting at a bus stop a few weeks ago when a young man approached them and said he was looking for a home for his puppy.

"We aren't supposed to have dogs where we live, but we were so concerned for the future of this animal that we decided to take him with the intention of re-homing him utilizing shelter adoption procedure," Jennifer said.

Now, Jennifer and Scott are looking for the right fit for Shadow, an 11 to 16 week-old American Staffordshire (possibly crossed with Boxer).

"He is very playful and energetic and extremely friendly. He loves people, kids, and other dogs. We also discovered that he loves playing in water and he actually went for his first swim the other day with great success. He's doing well with learning commands and walking on a leash and he can sleep through the night without needing to go out," Jennifer said.

Scott and Jennifer are working hard to find Shadow's match, interviewing potential adopters and bringing Shadow to meet other dogs potential adopters may own.

Shadow had a rough start to his life and is searching for his loving forever home.
