Scrub Opens in Salem

New downtown bath and body shop makes a splash.

The first step into Salem’s newest boutique shop Scrub is a sensory one. The downtown location - at the corner of Essex and Washington - is calm and lovely, the clean scents welcoming and fresh. 

Scrub is the third shop in Salem for Kate Leavy and Jamie Metsch, owners of the popular Front Street retail shops and .

“We wanted to be able to present full lines of bath products” said Leavy. “With Scrub, we focused on special bath product lines that are natural and pay attention to green business practices.”

Customers will find many of the items are locally made, including Magic Moon of Salem and BC Essentials and Soapapilla of Lynn. 

Alongside bath products are household necessities, such as shower curtains, tooth brushes, soap dispensers, as well as home décor.

“Scrub will continue to strive to find great and new products” Leavy said. “We will be carrying seasonal items as well as hosting special events in the coming months.”
