Sting Operation in Salem Nabs Alleged Prostitute
Salem detectives went undercover to catch a Salem woman allegedly advertising prostitution online.
A Salem woman was arrested on a prostitution charge Monday evening after an undercover detective posing as a customer responded to her advertisement online.
Jennifer E. Owens, 40, of 3 Cross St. Ct., Salem, was arrested on a charge of offering to perform sexual acts for a fee and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
At 5:34 p.m., Salem detectives conducted a vice sting operation after learning of prostitution activity in the Salem area advertised on boston.backpage.com, according to this morning's police log post.

A local detective, acting undercover, reportedly contacted Owens and arranged to meet her on Cross Street Court.
Owens was placed under arrest after allegedly agreeing to perform sexual acts on the undercover officer in exchange for money.
