Monday, Nov. 5:

• At 4:10 p.m., a woman called police to report that she had been followed by a car several times while running errands during the day. Police later learned that the driver of the vehicle was a private investigator.
• At 4:34 p.m., police responded to a report of harassment on Palmer Street.
• At 5:03 p.m., police responded to a report of a disorderly house on Lawrence Street. 
• At 5:46 p.m., a woman called police to report that the roof of her car was dented in while it was parked on Highland Avenue.
• At 6:15 p.m., police responded to a report that a man was out with two loose pit bulls on Pope Street and that dung had been left on the sidewalk. A man was issued a slew of dog-related tickets totaling $250. 
• At 7:30 p.m., two plain-clothes officers at Walgreens on New Derby Street caught a woman shoplifting. Jamie Lee Primus, 24, of 59 Federal St., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
• At 8:48 p.m., Nicholas Cowley, 33, of 56 Margin St., Salem, was arrested for trespassing at the Clipper Ship Inn. 
• At 8:56 p.m., a man entered the police station to report that someone dented his car while it was parked on Canal Street.
• At 10:02 p.m., employees at the North Shore Medical Center called police to report that they were assaulted by a patient while trying to administer care - one said they had been kicked in the stomach, the other said the patient spit in their face. The patient will be summonsed to court on two counts of assault and battery.

Tuesday Nov. 6:

• At 1:45 a.m., police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Bridge Street and subsequently arrested Katherine Ortega, 24, of 20 Phelps St., Salem, on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.
• At 3:23 a.m., police received word that a skunk had been hit by a car near the intersection of Loring Avenue and Leggs Hill Road.
• At 8:00 a.m., police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Canal Street and Ocean Avenue involving a Toyota sedan and a Nissan sedan.
• At 8:15 a.m., the owner of Allied Collision on Jefferson Avenue called police to report that someone had broken in overnight. Nothing of value was reportedly taken.
• At 12:31 p.m., police responded to a report of a disorderly house on Lawrence Street and took photographs of trash on the property.
• At 12:47 p.m., an Appleton Street woman told police she believed someone had broken into her house, used her Facebook account and taken some items.  
• At 12:56 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity in a motor vehicle at the intersection of Derby and Congress streets. Responding officers determined that "the parties were having a romantic lunch break in the backseat." They were advised to have their lunch inside.
• At 2:16 p.m., a Bridge Street man called police to report that his ex-girlfriend wouldn't give back the iPhone he purchased for her earlier this week. The man was told that since he purchased it as a gift, he wasn't entitled to get it back.
• At 3:11 p.m., an employee at Target called police to report that a woman had just stolen two Beats headphones valued at $199.99 and fled the store. Police were unable to locate the woman.
• At 3:48 p.m., police responded to a call for medical assistance on Salem Street and, after a brief investigation, arrested Matthew J. Watson, 33, of 31 Salem St., Salem, on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot).
• At 4:18 p.m., police responded to a report of a hit-and-run accident on Ocean Avenue.
• At 6:27 p.m., police and fire units responded to a fire alarm at the Hawthorne Hotel. Responding officers learned that two youths pulled the alarm. The incident occurred during a John Tierney watch party.
• At 9:10 p.m., police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Heritage Drive. Jonathan Torres, 31, of 4 Heritage Drive, Salem, was arrested on charges of malicious destruction of property valued above $250, assault and battery, intimidation of a witness and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (motor vehicle). Torres reportedly smashed a car window and intentionally caused a vehicle his girlfriend was driving to strike a tree. Both Torres and his girlfriend were reportedly injured during the incident, according to scanner reports.

Wednesday, Nov. 7:

• At 2:44 p.m., police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle's side-view mirror while crossing Linden Street. A full report was taken.
• At 3:23 p.m., police responded to a report of a man sleeping under a table at Salem Laundry. John Lapointe, 53, of the streets of Salem, was arrested on a charge of trespassing.
