Security Vehicle Stolen from Salem Hospital

The following information was submitted by the Salem Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:

Friday, June 21:

  • At 5:09 p.m., police responded to a report of a stolen bicycle on Washington Street.
  • At 5:51 p.m., a man known to have an outstanding warrant was located near the intersection of Lafayette and Harbor streets. Jesse A Cunha, 22, of the streets of Salem, was arrested for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
  • At 6:18 p.m., police responded to a report of a man entering the woods on Memorial Drive with an axe. Responding officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.
  • At 6:49 p.m., Salem detectives made an arrest on Lafayette Street. Zeban J. Zegarowski, 39, of 2 Columbus Square, Salem, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, third offense, possessing a class B substance with intent to distribute and possessing a class B substance.
  • At 9:12 p.m., police responded to a fireworks complaint on Cabot Street.
  • At 9:49 p.m., police responded to a report of men looking through a house on Naples Road with a flashlight.
  • At 10:05 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Highland Avenue.
  • At 10:36 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Weatherly Drive. Paul E. Donnelly, 56, of 1 Weatherly Drive, Salem, was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Saturday, June 22:

  • At 12:01 a.m., police responded to a fireworks complaint near the intersection of Franklin Street and Moulton Avenue.
  • At 3:52 a.m., police responded to a report of people yelling in the street on Dow Street.
  • At 4:25 a.m., police received word that a security vehicle had been stolen from Salem Hospital. The vehicle was later recovered in Wakefield by the state police.
  • At 7:30 a.m., a hypodermic needle was discovered near the intersection of Washington Square East and Washington Square South.
  • At 10:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a man swinging a metal chain at other people in the street on Salem Street.
  • At 10:38 a.m., police responded to a report of a loose dog on Upham Street.
  • At 1:57 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Target on Highland Avenue. Joshua J. Kalloger, 27, of 14 Fernwood Ave., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of larceny over $250 by single scheme and for reportedly have two outstanding warrants.
