Drug Arrest at Salem High School

The following information was submitted by the Salem Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:

Wednesday, Feb. 27:

  • At 6:04 p.m., police responded to a reported disturbance on Rawlins Street. A woman told police she has been having problems with her upstairs neighbor.
  • At 6:05 p.m., a hypodermic needle was found on Orne Street.
  • At 7:26 p.m., police responded to a report of harassment on Daniels Street. A woman told police that someone keeps leaving pizza and other food items on the windshield of her truck.
  • At 7:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a person yelling for help near the intersection of Washington and Pond streets.
  • At 9:13 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on North Street.
  • At 10:18 p.m., police responded to a report of a man yelling on Pope Street.
  • At 10:58 p.m., police responded to a report of a domestic assault and battery on Jackson Street.
  • At 10:59 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity in a store on North Street.

Thursday, Feb. 28:

  • At 12:42 a.m., police pulled over a motor vehicle at the intersection of Bridge and St. Peter streets. Bernabe Eladio Perez, 24, of 110 New Park St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
  • At 2:35 a.m., a hypodermic needle was found on Willson Street.
  • At 8:52 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on High Street.
  • At 10:37 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Heritage Drive.
  • At 10:55 a.m., police conducted a drug arrest at Salem High School. A student was reportedly caught selling marijuana at the school.
  • At 11:40 a.m., a Loring Avenue woman called police to report that a small section of her fence  was damaged overnight. Responding officers determined that it looked like someone walking by kicked and damaged the fence.
  • At 11:41 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity  on Boston Street. John R. Bernard, 59, of 20 Bates Park Ave., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
  • At 12:44 p.m., police responded to a report of a man yelling on Highland Avenue. The man reportedly told responding officers that he was upset with the state of the government and wanted to exercise his free speech while waiting for the bus.
  • At 1:59 p.m., police responded to a dispute between landlord and tenant on Jefferson Avenue.
  • At 2:00 p.m., a First Street woman called police to report that she had become the victim of identity theft.
  • At 3:00 p.m., a contractor working on Pearl Street called police to report that tools were stolen from the job site overnight.
  • At 3:14 p.m., a hypodermic needle was discovered on Lynde Street.
  • At 3:51 p.m., police responded to a report of threats being made at the Walmart on Highland Avenue.
  • At 4:45 p.m., police located a man known to have an outstanding warrant at the intersection of Washington and New Derby streets. Julio A. Flete, 24, of 86 Broadway St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
  • At 5:42 p.m., police responded to a report of a woman taking photographs of customers at a store on Trader's Way.

Other arrest:

Ann M. Baccari, 61, of 95 Jackson St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery.
