Police Have Responded to Residence 14 Times Since May 1
The following was provided by the Salem Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
The Salem Police responded to the following calls and made the following arrests on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Tuesday, May 24
5:21 p.m. — Police received a call a vehicle on Technology Way was keyed.
5:25 p.m. — A Moffatt Road resident reported he saw a man trying to get into his vehicle. When confronted, police said the man ran away.
5:55 p.m. — A stolen purse was reported on Washington Street.
7:42 p.m. — A stolen laptop was reported on Warner Street. The woman who reported the theft told police she does not lock her room or her front door.
7:43 p.m. — Kids on the roof of the parking garage were reported.
7:44 p.m. — Police received a call someone had messed with a wall that had just been plastered at 31 Salem St.
Juan Ramon Ayala Jr., 22, of 31 Salem St., was arrested on charges of operating without being licensed and an improper left turn. He was also arrested on a warrant.
Wednesday, May 25
12:22 a.m. — Police responded to Sidelines on a report a man possibly had a fake identification and stolen credit card. The employee said the man had an Arizona's driver license and purchased three drinks. He then tried to pay with a credit card issued to a woman. He left before police arrived.
12:24 a.m. — A person banging on the door was reported at 31 Salem St.
1:03 a.m. — Two people were taken into protective custody at 31 Salem St. Police said one — William Damon (see below) — was arrested after it was discovered he was in possession of a knife.
3:11 a.m. — Police said a man was taken into protective custody in the Wendy's parking lot.
12:24 a.m. — Police responded to 31 Salem St. on a tenant/landlord dispute. A tenant said a landlord called her up screaming at her about what happened the night prior. Police said the main door had a support hinge ripped out. Officers responded to the residence several times earlier that day and the day before. Police said they have been to the residence 14 times this month for various incidents.
11:51 am. — A stolen wallet was reported at King's Roast Beef.
12:31 p.m. — Graffitti was reported on Lafayette Street.
1:40 p.m. — A man reported he lent his computer to a friend several months ago, but now they are no longer friends, and the man said he wants his computer back.
Wiiliam Venezia III, 36, of 257 Washington St., was arrested on a charge of breaking and entering in the day with intent to commit a crime.
Diego R. Perez, 20, of 42 Spencer St., in Lynn, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle without being licensed and an improper left turn.
Juan Leonardo-Pinales, 38, of 2 Murdock Dr., in Peabody, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle without being licensed, operating an unregistered vehicle and operating with defective equipment.
Richard J. Larocque, 40, of 7 Jefferson Pl., in Lynn, was arrested on two warrants.
Ryan Steven Decker, 18, of 11 Gardner St., was arrested on a domestic assault and battery charge.
William Damon III, 31, of 31 Salem St., was arrested on charges of violation of the city knife ordinance and malicious destruction of property.
