The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:

Sunday, Nov. 4:

• At 3:35 p.m., police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident on Essex Street involving a Honda CRV.
• At 3:48 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Farrell Court.
• At 5:50 p.m., a Margin Street woman called police for assistance with filing a warrant for her boyfriend who stole her motor vehicle and took it to Bath, Maine.
• At 6:24 p.m., a Derby Street man called police to report that he hung a flag on his property and it has since gone missing. The man said he suspected his neighbor may be responsible.
• At 7:56 p.m., a woman entered the police station to report that her cell phone was stolen while at a party on Hazel Street.
• At 10:52 p.m., police responded to a report of a loud stereo on Pope Street. Responding officers determined that a man yelling while watching the Celtics game was making the noise.

Monday, Nov. 5:

• At 3:14 a.m., police and fire units responded to The Tropicana Market on Palmer Street for a report of an alarm sounding. Firefighters made their way to the basement and found a problem with the boiler.
• At 6:16 a.m., a man from North Shore Medical Center turned over two knives for safe keeping that were taken from two people.
•  At 9:46 a.m., police responded to a report of a student out of control at Collins Middle School who had pulled a fire alarm before leaving.
• At 10:55 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Federal Street involving a Chrysler and a Jeep.
• At 1:38 p.m., a Daniels Street resident called police to report that someone hacked into her Facebook account and wrote derogatory comments about her online.
• At 1:46 p.m., police received word that a car had been keyed on Highland Avenue.
• At 2:15 p.m., a man was arrested on an out-of-state warrant at the intersection of Harbot and Congress streets.
• At 2:28 p.m., police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident on Highland Avenue.
• At 3:47 p.m., police and fire units responded to a report of a possible fire on Wheatland Street. Firefighters determined that problem was caused by a defective baseboard heater.

Arrests:

• Robert McLaughlin, 23, of 143 Canal St., Salem, was arrested for disturbing the peace.
• Bradley A. Feola, 31, of 116 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
