NWS Issues Coastal Flood Warning for Salem

Flooding is expected concurrent with high tide.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a coastal flood warning for Salem from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Tonight's flooding will occur around midnight and linger later into the night, according to NWS.

NWS urges resident to expect "inundation of low lying areas and roadways along shorelines."

Beach erosion is also expected and "may become significant…through Monday night as high water levels combine with large breaking waves over multiple tide cycles."

Salem was also under a coastal flood warning last night into the early morning hours Monday.
