The bicyclist who was critically injured by an MBTA bus this morning has been identified at Philip Moran, 47, of Salem, according to the Boston Globe.
Salem, State and MBTA police were on the scene of the accident for a few hours after the collision, which closed the outbound portion of Washington Street from Federal to Bridge streets.
On scene cracks were visible on the windshield of the bus.
Personal belongings were also visible in the streets as well as a bike that Moran was presumably riding.
Scanner reports indicate Moran was intitally brought to Salem hospital before he was airlifted to Mass. General. Twitter user @somebodylied2u provided a photo of the Medflight leaving Salem.

I don't see what goes without saying, since it does happen all too often—so clearly it bears repeating. And repeating. And repeating. And it has nothing to do with compassion or lack thereof for the victim.
I keep all cycling victims in my thoughts. Prayer...well, that's your thing.
