Man Pushes Woman Off Chair at Dunkin' Donuts

The following information was provided by the Salem Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

The Salem Police responded to the following calls and made the following arrests on Monday and Tuesday.

Monday, Feb. 20

2:23 p.m. — Loud music was reported on Washington Street. Police said the woman was advised to lower her music.

4:01 p.m. — A stolen vehicle was reported on Leach Street. Swampscott Police reported the vehicle was found in their town on Middlesex Avenue. The interior was stripped, police said.

4:24 p.m. — Loud banging was reported on Pope Street. Police said the noise was caused by kids running around.

4:30 p.m. — A kid speeding on a dirt bike was reported at Lawrence and Brooks streets. Police were not able to locate anyone in the area.

5:31 p.m. — Police received a call about a person who was assaulted at the Dunkin' Donuts on Boston Street. A woman said she was sitting in the store when a man pushed her off her chair after she had exchanged words with his female friend. The alleged victim said she doesn't know the people involved in the incident. The alleged assailants left, and police said the woman was not injured. During the incident, a glass window was cracked by the man who pushed the woman. Police said he damaged the window "as he was leaving the business by pushing the door open with enough force to make the handle hit the glass window, cracking it." Police the Criminal Investigation Unit is reviewing a tape to see if it can identify the suspect.

7:38 p.m. — A woman yelling outside was reported at Flint and Chestnut streets. Police were not able to locate her.

9:24 p.m.— Credit card fraud was reported on Fowler Street.

11:04 p.m. — A hypodermic needle at Essex and Beckford streets was reported. Police said it was located and disposed of properly.

Monday Arrests

William Hector Gomez, 49, of 17A Heritage Dr., was arrested on two charges of domestic assault and battery.

Fiorenzo Nico Lecce, 18, of 317 Paradise Rd., in Swampscott, was arrested on charges of operating after a license suspension and defective equipment.

Tuesday, Feb. 21

12:16 a.m. — A loud party was reported on Pope Street.

2:23 a.m. — Police found two people sleeping in a running car at Derby Street and Palfrey Court. The operator said she had just stopped to rest with her friend. Police said two 1.75-liter bottles of vodka — one three quarters full and the other one quarter full — were found in the vehicle. Jessica Anne Weiner (see below) was arrested.

6:23 a.m. — Police received a report about malicious damage to a gas station on Canal Street. Over the past couple weeks, police said there have been multiple issues. Someone keeps stealing the sale signs for milk, police said. Two weeks ago, someone stole a green canoe from behind the store and damaged a fence in the process, the manager told police. Someone also cut the air hose to an air pump this past Saturday, police said. The manager has requested extra checks, police said.

6:40 a.m. — A break-in was reported at 63 Jefferson Ave., the building that was heavily damaged by fire the day prior, police said. Overnight, police said, "the suspects had pried the lock hasp away from the door and it appears entry may have been gained." Police said it was not possible to determine if anything had been disturbed. The building is temporarily condemned and entry is forbidden by the building inspector until its integrity is determined, police said. The Criminal Investigation Unit was notified.

8:12 a.m. — Police received a call from a person who runs a Lafayette Street laundromat. Police they were informed the man "got a call from a customer about a homeless guy harassing people inside" the business. Police said the man was kicked out. Police asked the business to contact them if the man returns.

9:14 a.m. — A landlord/tenant dispute was reported on Mason Street.

11:42 a.m. — A vehicle parked too close to the tracks was reported on Bridge Street. Police said the vehicle was towed. Approximately 25 minutes after the towing, police said "A Pan Am Railways freight train arrived in Salem and crossed that section of track."

11:47 a.m. — Vandalism was reported by the Boutique on Derby Street. The owner said a customer brought to his attention the fact that four pairs of jeans had been slashed with a knife or razor. Police said the man doesn't know who could be committing these acts, and this is the third incident involving damaged clothes.

12:37 p.m. — Vandalism was reported on Colby Street. Police found graffiti on a shed.

2:07 p.m. — A person trying door handles was reported on Federal Street.

3:16 p.m. — Glass on the sidewalk was reported on Butler Street. Police said they did not find glass on the sidewalk.

Tuesday Arrests

Chad Joseph LeBlanc, 33, of 50 Rantoul St., in Beverly, was arrested on a warrant.

Stephanie Leigh Penza, 29, of 27 Grove St., in Saugus, was arrested on two warrants.

Michael Anthony Pizzo, 25, who is listed as homeless in Salem, was arrested on five warrants.

Jessica Anne Weiner, 37, of 37 Tudor St., in Lynn, was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of liquor and driving with an open container.
