Highland Avenue Crash Leads to Arrest

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department's log:
Tuesday, Feb. 26:
- At 4:19 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity at the intersection of Margin and High streets.
- At 4:39 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Canal Street. Nicole A. Acosta, 18, of 40 Rainbow Terrace, Salem, was arrested for having an outstanding warrant.
- At 4:48 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Lafayette Street.
- At 5:23 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Lafayette Street.
- At 7:15 p.m., police responded to a past break-in on Endicott Street. A man told police he came home to find items missing.
- At 8:31 p.m., a Prince Street woman called police to ask if they would be willing to find out "why her boyfriend has two last names."
- At 9:05 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on North Street.
- At 10:19 p.m., police received word that a motorist had hit two sign posts on Bridge Street before leaving the scene. Officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
- At 11:24 p.m., a Lafayette Street woman called police to report that she was receiving harassing phone calls.
Wednesday, Feb. 27:
- At 6:00 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highland Avenue. A motor vehicle reportedly left the roadway and hit a tree. Kevin A. Bovell, 35, of 30 Ontario St., Lynn, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for having an outstanding warrant.
- At 8:35 a.m., police responded to a report of a stuck bus on Meadow Street.
- At 10:09 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Ames Street.
- At 10:36 a.m., a woman called police to report that her cell phone was stolen.
- At 11:05 a.m., police located a man on First Street known to have an outstanding warrant.
- At 11:59 a.m., police responded to The Lotus Gift Store after receiving word that a woman had stolen a sweatshirt from the rack out in front of her store.
- At 1:04 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Bay View Circle.
- At 4:21 p.m., police responded to a dispute on Congress Street.
- At 4:39 p.m., police located a man on Congress Street known to have an outstanding warrant. Danny W. Reyes, 29, of 96 Congress St., Salem, was arrested for having an outstanding warrant.
