Green Star Wars Lightsaber Stolen from Apartment

The following information was provided by the Salem Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The responded to the following calls on Monday and Tuesday.

Monday, Oct. 10

  • At 4:09 p.m. Monday, police said it was reported prescription Ray-Ban  sunglasses were stolen from a vehicle on Derby Street.
  • A Prince Street man reported his car was scratched overnight at 4:39 a.m. Monday. The man told police he thought it was his ex-girlfriend who did it, but he didn't have any proof.
  • An abandoned 18-speed bicycle was reported on Boston Street at 6:38 p.m. Monday. A woman told police the bicycle had been left on her lawn the previous day.
  • A person hanging on a light pole at Bridge Street and Sgt. James Ayube II Memorial Drive was reported at 7:51 p.m. Monday.
  • A person locked inside an ATM on Lafayette Street was reported to police at 8:16 p.m. Monday. Police said the man was freed.

Tuesday, Oct. 11

  • A fight in a parking lot on Washington Street was reported at 12:14 a.m. Tuesday. Police said the fight was verbal.
  • At 1:50 a.m. Tuesday police responded to on a report a person was having a fight with staff members.
  • Loud trucks were reported on Traders Way at 5:11 a.m. Tuesday.
  • A Derby Street resident reported a small wooden pipe and "a replica Star Wars lightsaber (silver handle, green blade)" was stolen from his secured apartment. Police said there were no signed of forced entry into the apartment.
  • Police received a report that a vehicle hit multiple turkeys on Orleans Avenue at 6:42 a.m. Tuesday. Police said one turkey was severely injured and had to be put down in a humane manner, but the others were fine. The dead turkey was deposited in the freezer.
  • A dispute over custody of a dog was reported on Cherry Street at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

Also on Tuesday

  • William Ribokas, 58, of 257 Washington St., was arrested on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
  • Michael Mojica, 38, of 54 Proctor St. Cr., in Peabody, was arrested on a charge of operating with a suspended license (6th offense).
  • Police arrested Timothy Ryan Vonallgeier, 23, of 59 Old Jacobs Road, in Georgetown, on charges of attempting to commit a crime, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
