In our new feature, Salem Dish, we'll be showcasing a tasty dish from a Salem eatery each week.

Today, we're featuring a drink that will get your Valentine's Day heart pumping with some "spice" and local flavor.

Finz Owner George Carey was kind enough to help us out this week with the restaurant's Bloody Mary, which Finz calls Local Mary. Thanks for your help, George.

Local Mary

Recipe:

  • Crop Organic Cucumber vodka
  • Pickle brine
  • House made bloody Mary mix
  • Garnish with a celery salt rim and fresh Maitland farm (spicy) pickle.

On the drink:

"We have been doing the local movement for a long time as we are blessed with such great fish and Oysters locally," said Finz Owner George Carey. " We are currently serving a drink that features a local farm, Maitland Farms, and it is their spicy pickle."

Carey said the Bloody Mary isn't the only place you'll spot Maitland Farm pickles in the food at Finz.

"We also will use the pickle in our special relish or tartar sauce on certain dishes," he explained.

For those of you who loved Holly's Spicy Pickles from Maitland Farm during the farmers market season, yes, these are the same delicious pickles.

Also at Finz these days:

  • A selection of oysters from Massachusetts
  • On the Valentine's Day menu — local goat cheese from Valley View Farms in Topsfield
