High tide in Collins Cove and things seem pretty good. Our storm drain on Lathrop St. is about an inch away from spilling over into the street and Beacon Street has some minor flooding. The sidewalk along the cove is getting washed out, and the wind is whipping.

Not seeing a play button or any text box to comment. Fran & Diane's kitchen is closed & phones & power are down. No phones on Lafayette by M'head line either.

It,s a mystery to me why so many boats were left on their moorings in Salem. When they break free they must hit many other boats before going ashore.

Most of the boats stuck still out on the morrings are because of a significant mistake by the Hawthorne Cove marina. they are about a month behind. Normally we are all out by now. Nov 1st is typically the last day before insurance requires us to be on shore.

So I guess the good news is that they should be covered.

Yes, in fact when I was informed of my revised haulout date I updated my policy to the end of November, for more $$$.

Does anyone know if trash collection is pushed back a day, or cancelled due to storm?

No delays I've heard. Please be sure NOT to put your trash out tonight. It will just tip over and clog the storm drains and cause flooding. wake up early and put it out (weather permitting).

Regardless of weather, our trash always goes out early am. Helps prevent tip overs, or having bags ripped open and tossed about by can collectors.

There was a good amount of damage in Salem and other coastal towns in Northern Massachusetts. I'm a local exterior painter, and we are still taking calls from Salem residents as a result of the storm damage. If you've been affected by the storm we would love to offer you a complimentary estimate, (www.olympicpainting.com/painting-salem-ma). Make sure you mention that Susan sent you!
