Fourth Man Sentenced in 2008 Rape Case
Harold Baltodano, 22, of Lynn is the fourth man to be sentenced for the 2008 rape of a Salem High School classmate.
A Lynn man has plead guilty to aggravated rape and been sentenced to up to four and a half years in state prison for a 2008 case involving Salem High students.
Harold Baltodano, 22, appeared in Salem Superior Court yesterday, according to the Essex County District Attorney's Office.
The DA reported a charge of witness intimidation was dropped as part of the plea. The plea kept the witness from having to testify at a trial again, Essex Assistant District Attorney Greg Friedholm told the court.
On Wednesday "Baltodano admitted to taking part in a Feb. 2008, aggravated rape of a Salem High School classmate in a Lynn apartment," the DA reported.
Three other men had already been sentenced in the case.
Justin Louf, 21, and Luis Arias, 23, both of Salem were sentenced earlier in 2012 to up to four years and three months and four and a half years respectively. Rafael Nino-Brito was also convicted of rape in March as the result of a jury trial and sentenced to up to eight years, according to the DA.
Baltodano will need to register as a sex offender when he gets out of prison, the DA reported.
