Found Cell Phone Has 'Suspicious' Photos

A cell phone found on Lafayette Street last week was turned over to police Saturday.

A cell phone discovered on Lafayette Street last week was turned over to local police officers Saturday after a search for the phone's owner revealed some "suspicious" images in the phone's photo gallery.

At 8:50 a.m., a woman reportedly entered the police station to turn over a T-Mobile cell phone that she said she found on the steps of 300 Lafayette Street Tuesday.

The woman told police she was trying to track down the owner of the phone when she stumbled upon photos that appeared to show "suspicious activity," according to this morning's police log.

The phone was reportedly taken by Salem police officers and will be held at the station for safe keeping.

suspicious activity could mean a variety of things (criminal, sexual, predatory). Any way of narrowing down what specifically the activity is? the police blogs scare me more and more. Crime seems to be getting worse, and the level and intensity of the crimes are scary
